Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Metro Sound ("the app"), published by Next Horizon Technologies Inc. ("we", "us"), handles your information. We built Metro Sound to be private by default.

The short version

  • We do not run our own servers that collect your personal data.
  • Your imported tracks, photos, and practice settings are stored on your device.
  • The tuner's microphone audio is processed on your device and is never recorded or transmitted.
  • Cloud sync is optional and goes to your own cloud account — not to us.
  • We do not use analytics or advertising, and we do not sell or share your data.

Microphone & the tuner

Metro Sound's tuner uses your device's microphone to detect the pitch of the note you play in real time. This audio is analyzed locally on your device for the sole purpose of showing tuning information.

  • The microphone is used only while the tuner is active.
  • Audio is not recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere.
  • Your device will ask for microphone permission, which you can grant or deny; the rest of the app works without it.

Your media & library

When you import practice tracks or add photos of your sheet music, those files are copied into the app's storage on your device. Your library, exercise organization, and metronome settings are also stored locally.

Optional cloud sync

If you choose to enable sync, the app uses Google Sign-In to connect to your Google account and stores your data in your own Google Drive.

  • The app uses a limited Google Drive scope that grants access only to the files the app itself creates. It cannot see the rest of your Drive.
  • Synced data is stored in your account, under your control. We do not receive, store, or have access to it.
  • You can disconnect at any time and delete synced files from your Google Drive.

Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or usage analytics through the app. We have no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs.

Children's privacy

Metro Sound is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data security

Because your data lives on your device and in your own cloud account, its security depends largely on the protections of your device and account (passcode, biometrics, and account security). We encourage you to keep those enabled.

Your choices

  • Deny microphone access and use every other feature normally.
  • Use the app fully without enabling cloud sync.
  • Disconnect sync at any time, and delete synced files from your cloud.
  • Delete the app to remove all local data, including imported tracks and photos.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
